Our Vision
New Life, a 12-18 month program, exists to help men and women—through the power of Jesus Christ—to break free from chemical dependency and experience total healing in their spirit, soul, body and relationships.
Only the power of Jesus Christ can truly change a person’s heart and, until the heart changes, the person’s condition cannot change. New Life works on transforming the inner person. We have found addictions to be nothing more than the outcome of past hurts and wrong decisions resulting from sin. That’s why we seek to heal-not just the addiction-but also the root cause of the addiction. New Life also seeks to restore broken family relationships. Most of our students have children, so we strive to restore these parents to their rightful place in the family unit.

The New Life Centers are a non-profit residential community outreach program. Our residents come from backgrounds of substance abuse, crime, broken homes as well as mental, emotional and physical abuse. They are men and women whose lives have been ravaged by Satan.
The vision of the New Life Centers started two decades ago when Pastor Gaspar Anastasi and his family took two homeless men into their own home and showered them with the love of Christ and compassion. Other members of the congregation followed suit until, in 1983, Word Of Life Ministries opened the New Life Center for Men. In 1987, a New Life Center for Women was opened. Since that time, hundreds of men and women from across the United States, and the Caribbean have come and found help here.
Our success rate is well above those advertised by most secular programs. Approximately 85% of the New Life students who stay and graduate go on to live successful, drug-free lives. Recognizing the change that is brought about in our students, the courts often offer the Program as an alternative to prison.
Facilities
Our main facilities are located in Fort Myers, Florida. Our facility consists of dormitory-style rooms. We can currently house forty men here on campus and thirty women. We have the space to expand and house 100 men and 50 women.
New Life Fast Facts
• The New Life Crisis Center is founded, supported and operated by Word of Life Ministries.
• We have an 85% success rate among Program graduates. Among men and women who complete the required term (18 months for Men, 12 for Women), approximately 9 out of 10 go on to live successful, drug-free lives.
• Approximately 80% of New Life residents were homeless prior to entering the Program. All graduates leave with a job, a place to live and money saved while in the Working Stage of the Program.
• The New Life Centers are so successful; courts offer it to men and women as an alternative to prison.
• Approximately 80% of the graduates who enter the Program directly from prison never return to prison. (Government statistics say that 85% of men released from prison will eventually return.)
• Many Program graduates presently serve in various capacities on our full-time and volunteer church staff.
• Many Program graduates serve as leaders or trainees in our home fellowship Care Groups (Bible Study Groups).
• As of 2005, hundreds of men have passed through the New Life Center since its inception and over 250 have graduated. Since 1987, our Women’s Center has served hundreds, with over 175 graduates.
• The majority of the women graduates whose children had been taken away by the courts now have them restored.
