Gaspar Anastasi, Bishop of Word of Life Ministries, began this ministry over 30 years ago. Many churches have been planted worldwide under the banner of Word of Life. In 1997, he founded Global Church Fellowship International, a network of churches to train, encourage, and support church leaders, particularly in third world countries and inner cities. Over twenty yeas ago, Gaspar started an accredited Bible College that even today educates and equips many students in their pursuit of religious studies. In 2003, Pastor Gaspar & his wife Michele relocated the headquarters for Word of Life Ministries from Freeport, New York to Fort Myers, Florida.

In 1983 Pastor Gaspar founded the New Life Dream Centers, a rehabilitation program for drug and alcohol abusers. For about 30 years, this faith-based program has seen thousands of men and women set free from addictions and other dysfunctional lifestyles. Program graduates have a 90% success rate and every woman who had children removed by the courts has had them restored. Judges have even offered this program as an alternative to incarceration. In fulfilling its mission to serve the community, the NLDC doesn’t turn anyone away. People who were once a burden to society and to their families are now successful and functional parents, employees, and citizens. Many lives, families, and communities have truly been blessed by this miraculous program.

Pastor Gaspar and Michele also address the needs of their community through the many conferences held at Word of Life. These conferences are free of charge and deal with real life issues such as marriage, children, finances, women’s concerns, and even emotional and physical healing. Individual, marital, family, and prayer counseling (a unique and effective ministry that heals deep inner wounds) are also offered to the members of the community free of charge. Food is available to anyone in need, and is distributed to the poorer communities through our weekly food mobile.

Every Saturday Pastor Gaspar invites anyone in the community who needs physical healing to come to the “Healing Room” where they will be prayed for. Other ministries that help fulfill our vision to serve our community are the “Adopt-a-Block” and “Adopt-a-Nursing Home” programs. These programs connect volunteers in the church with their neighbors and the often-forgotten elderly and infirmed.

Pastor Gaspar airs a weekly television and radio program called “God Has the Answer.” He has written close to a dozen books as well as many booklets and teaching articles. The Anastasi’s have been married 42 years and have five children and four precious grandchildren.
